No confirmation from Newcastle, but sources in Gothenburg assure us that we will take part in a "Supercup" tournament against a local side and a German outfit.

As part of the annual youth soccer tournament in Gothenburg, which this year consists of an astonishing 1,252 teams from all over the planet, a mini-tournament of professional teams is planned for the evening of Thursday July 19th in the Ullevi Stadium (pictured above.)

The games are apparently of 45 minutes duration. Whether this even forms part of the senior squad pre-season buildup is unclear.

You bet I'll be there but I think it will be tough to get into the stadium, there are like a million stupid little kids there. I was in Gothenburg one time when the youth cup was played, I tell you, kids everywhere!
