how do you spell relief?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread |
With the vast majority of this BBS on the verge of commiting a modern day mass Hari Kari due to the clubs lack of transfer inactivity, I have often wondered what the coping skills of people on the edge are like?Personally I spell it HEINEKEN......

THE BEACH AND A HEINEKEN

Whatever wil be, will be. Nothing I can do will alter the transfer strategy of the club so there's little point in me worrying about it.Come the start of the season I'll think about the merits of the team in place and how they could improve, if they need to.
I'm just waiting for the fixture list to plan the away day trips next season, as I plan to go further next season, maybe venturing towards North London even! What with Coventry going down there will be a gap in the season plan.
My limited number of home games will also increase, hopefully around the times of my Mum's birthday in late August, October half term (My girlfriend is a teacher, not me getting time off school!), Xmas and Easter!!
Whoever they sign I will be making the effort!

oh come on Deb!!!! You have speculated and worried about the clubs transfer activity (or lack of) as much as anyone, come on tell us how you handle the pressure during these doldrums????As for whom plays in the B&W it does matter to me! I want players who will go out week after week and not worry about the wages, or if they have a bliddy hangnail, or if we are playing in Europe or not. I want players who WANT to wear the B&W and will do WHATEVER it takes to win!

Sure I speculate on whoever but I'm not going to worry about it because I cannot directly affect it and I'll worry about the team when it is chosen to run out in the first game of the Premiership season. As I said I'm more concerned about getting to more games and offering them some support. Who signs won't make a difference in that respect although I, like I imagine everyone on here does, want to see the best players we can get playing for the CLUB.

What's you handicap now Rik, apart from the clubs!
-- Anonymous, June 15, 2001
Still can't get under 99 .... but Bedlingtons a MASSIVE course.
-- Anonymous, June 15, 2001
Not really Rik - if you think so try Slaley Hall, Matfen Hall or even Hexham.
-- Anonymous, June 16, 2001
I remember going fishing on the golf couse at Matfen Hall. Some poss bitch was whacking the ball at us. Caught a fish too.
-- Anonymous, June 17, 2001
I guess Bedlington is massive..................when compared to Rik's last course (pitch & putt on Whitley seafront).
-- Anonymous, June 18, 2001
Bedlington might not be quite as long as Slaley Hall, but is one of the biggest around 6,700 yards. The Par 3s are 165, 195 and 220 yds and some of the Par 4s are 450 yards. I reckon I'd get about 80 - 90 around little courses like Tynemouth and Whitley Bay.
