Apparently Veron has signed for Man U. Would a move for Butt be worthwhile.

no, i always remember the way he reacted in the 5-0. Wouldn't be able to handle defeat, which is no good if he comes our way :-(

kegs, still no more cockroaches, but your words haunt me every night...

With Manure's midfield now boasting Scholes, Beckham, Keane, Giggs and possibly Veron. the opportunities for Butt will probably be less than last year.

I'm not sure about Butt as a player. He wins the ball well but offers not a lot more and I feel we should be looking for someone with the ability to deliver the long pass as well, someone like Carrick!!

Personally I don't think Butt is that good - but he's better than we've got in that position. When we were good we had a holding midfielder - Vennison - Bracewell - Batty now we have nothing.

I'd be happy with Butt.

Butt has just signed a double your money deal, so i doubt he's leaving them. Luke Chadwick though is a damn fine LEFT WINGER who has been the shining light in the under 21's, but i doubt Fergie would sell him to us.

Chadwick would put the kids off coming to St James with that Plug from the Beano look!

Butt would be a good signing for us: Carrick is going nowhere, least of all here, so we may as well forget him.

The BBC TV News programme this morning spoke to Manure Chairman, Roger Kenyon, who said there is no truth in the story about them having signed Veron.

So he's signing tomorrow then.

Ahhhh shucks, ..... if they don't sign him we'll not be getting Giggs.

Butt could be a good signing, but he's always looked a bit "off" in an England shirt. Could this be because he plays off the rest of the team - this would be hard to do for him in our team.

Probably would be a good buy for about £6m, although I doubt Ferguson is that kind.

Aunty reckons the deal is off. He's under scrutiny by the Italian Government for "passport illegalities". Apparently (allegedly) the club provided him with a falsie. He's blaming them. Can't you just imagine it. "Snr Veron, we'd-a like-a you to a-play for Lazio. Here's a pass-a-port-a forra you". Happens everyday in business.

Due to his, they go on to say that if found guilty, FIFA are likely to slap a 2 year world-wide ban on him. No doubt Fergie will try to fix it for him. "Ay, see you Sebasti. Just you git in the boot o' ma car and aah'll pool up by the players entrance. When aah'm talkin' ti the press, yoo sneak oot and git changed. Naebody'll notice yi".
