Hi, I was wondering if anyone has ever tried using a very dilute solution of Decktol say 1:9 to bring out the highlights and then going to a second bath of Decktol in a stronger solution, or straight to develop the blacks. Thanks!

No. But I've used Selectol Soft or Ansco 120 as a first developer, followed by Dektol or Ansco 130 to bring up the blacks. This is recommended by Ansel Adams and John Sexton, among others.
