So Much For Japan's "Safe Society"

greenspun.com : LUSENET : The Christian Church : One Thread

Japan is often cited as a role model for America as a "safe society" due to their ban on citizens owning guns.

Tell that to the guy that just killed 8 children and wounded 15 others with a kitchen knife.

In the words of one bumper sticker.....directed towards politicians...."It's not the guns stupid!!"

Question....if the teachers were trained in the use of firearms....how many children would have been harmed??...i.e., how many children would still be alive??

The answer is so obvious.

Danny, I am not as learned or smart as you, so please make the "obvious" explicit for me.

Not that I mean to "beat a dead horse" I know we have agreed to disagree. But I guess I am curious as to what your thinking is...

The answer is really NOT obvious to me.

oh spare me!

how can you even begin to compare this "instance" in Japan with the US. *****. I can't believe you would even consider having firearms on a SCHOOL SITE WHERE THERE ARE CHILDREN to be a viable solution anyway!

and besides put the shoe on the other foot. if that MAN had a gun imagine how many more children he could have KILLED and WOUNDED!? ****.

Whoever this last individual is obviously is a pagan to have used the name of our Lord in such a vile manner.

Heh, that poster probably doesn't think that he/she is pagan. I've encountered many self-professed Christians that regularly utter His name in a similar manner, and are just as obnoxious.
