Will OK be disenfranchised?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : orienteer kansas : One Thread

There is a general meeting of USOF at the Pacific NW Orienteering Festival this summer. All clubs may vote on various (possibly important) issues. The question is, will OK have a representative at that meeting? Are we to be "disenfranchised" once again or will Prez Mary use the powers invested in her to divinely appoint a voice for OK?

Whoops; disenfranchised, huh? Deadline to submit delegate names was June 10th. No one had mentioned they were going, so no name was submitted. . .

We missed the deadline to officially name our convention delegate, so we'll just have to use our lobbying powers to get other delegates to vote the way OK wants.

Does anyone have any idea what (if any) issues are going to be voted on at the convention?

The Issues (according to the USOF Virtual Binder on Robin Shannonhouse's web site -- not as easy to find as it ought to be!):

1) A proposed bylaws change to relax somewhat the scheduling requirements for the AGM. Right now it has to be held between March and August; the change would just require that no two AGMs be held closer together than six months. (I suspect this will cruise through with no objections.)

2) An uncontested slate of BOD candidates.

What sort of position should OK take on these two issues?
