Friday June 8 9:47 PM ET United Flight Lands Safely After Diverted CHICAGO (Reuters) - A United Airlines flight from Philadelphia to Chicago on Friday developed an electrical problem on board and was diverted to Columbus, Ohio where the plane landed safely, a United spokeswoman said.

All of the passengers were safe and there were no injuries, United spokeswoman Andrea Arroyo said.

Flight 1273 left Philadelphia at 4:38 p.m. EDT carrying 96 passengers and was scheduled to land in Chicago at 5:45 p.m. CDT (6:45 p.m. EDT).

About a half hour into the flight, the pilot of the 737 aircraft decided to divert the plane to Columbus because of a pressurization problem in the cabin as well as a minor electrical problem, Arroyo said.

United is rerouting another flight from Boston to pick up the passengers to take them to Chicago, she said.

United is a subsidiary of UAL Corp., the world's second largest airline. http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/nm/20010608/ts/airlines_united_landing_dc_1.html
