Saturday June 9 12:31 AM ET US Navy Plane Crash Kills Two Off Alabama Coast WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A U.S. Navy (news - web sites) aircraft crashed in the waters off Mobile, Alabama on Friday killing both crew members, a Navy spokesman said.

The T-34C Mentor from the Naval Air Station at Pensacola, Florida was on a routine training flight when it crashed in Mobile Bay, Navy spokesman Patrick Nichols said.

Nichols said an investigation was under way to determine the cause of the accident.

The crew members killed in the crash were identified as Navy instructor pilot Lt. Cmdr. Mark Johnson, 42, of San Antonio, Texas and Lt. Bantee Hall, 31, of Greensboro, North Carolina.
