I bought this card to capture from VHS to VCD. Is this card good enough to do what I want to do with good quality? Do I have to capture it with AVI format and convert it tp mpeg1?

Yeah, it's good enough for capturing...although personally, I prefer external Dazzle device...anyway, for MPEG-1 compression, dude, I suggest Adaptec Video CD creator 4...that's what i use...and it's absolutely icebox!
