During 15 minutes of mowing lawn in town this evening, no mosquitos were sighted and no mosquito bites were recorded.

Answers

Today while mapping, 2 myggs attacked out of the setting sun. I killed them both before they could inflict grievous wounds. It was impossible to tell if they were veterans who had over-wintered, or rookies of the new year.

One lone mosquito attempted a suicide run on the 10th, and it was promptly dispatched.

A vernal pool was inspected for wrigglers, and it was chock full of the same, still in wriggler form and not yet in the rounded, ball- like metamorphic form wrigglers assume shortly before hatching out in full adult glory and flight.

June 13: 9 myggor were killed, all in or near a lush, moist aspen grove by a marsh.

June 14: only 1 mygg turned up today. I never gave it a chance.
