God and our careers

My daughter had a interview today for a fairly important job. (please pray for her) and she said something to me after her interview. She said "Mom You can tell when people have God at the center of their lives they have an anchor and nothing can sway them. I am so glad God is the center of my life.!" Wow! I thought, she really is calm, she is 24 and she is looking to God to determine her job status. I have always turned to God regarding employment and he has never steered me wrong. Have you asked God with your work situation, boss, employment, etc.

I am retired but when I was working I always turned to God. One of the reasons was that I was working in Corporate America and usually I was the first black to work for these firms and I so needed the guidance of the Lord to stick with these companies. Through the guidance of the Lord, I bought into the american dream and subsequently, when I retired, my financial situation was great. I give God the praise and the glory

Rev. Rogers, You need to say that again. Far too many of our gofted young black folk don't realize that God places us in positions that may be uncomfortable at the time but if we do His will He will accomplish His goal and reward you also for being a true and faithful servant. You see, He wanted to open the corporate doors so other succeeding generations could come in. Now you are retired from that with resources to do more of His work in another field. I too, was the FIRST BLACK (you name it) from 1952 until 1997. Blessings

Nine years ago I had three job offers and I did not know which one to take. One of the members of my congregation said use this prayer. "God close all doors except the one I am to walk through!" He did and that is how I got to Montana. It really has been an incredible adventure.
