What's your favorite chick drink?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Current News : One Thread

Not beer, not white zin, but a mixed drink. The sweeter the better. Frozen would be a nice plus. A friend and I putting together the Top 10 list for a party.

My fave would have to be a Southwest Cooler-- cranberry, pineapple, and cactus juice liqueur.

(I didn't know if I should list this under SL or SHT! LOL)

In my day, it was Grasshoppers. Then it was Brandy Alexanders. Then it was Harvey Wallbangers. Between the sheets. H-bombs. Blue Hawaiis. Pina Coladas. Daquiris. White Russians. Pimm's Cup. There were more but I forget. (I wonder why?) It was a long "my day," LOL. Of course, the big favorite in New Orleans is the hurricane from Pat O'Brien's. Nick's Bar on Tulane, where all the med students hang out, has the largest assortment of frou-frou drinks, probly in the world. It used to be a two-story building but a hurricane took off the 2nd story. I don't think anybody noticed.

LOL. . .how 'bout a "Slow Comfortable Screw"??

Teehee. . .

From what I've been told, it contains sloe gin, Southern Comfort, and orange juice . . .dunno what else. Hell, who needs anything else, with a name like that??

Sounds kinda good, though . . . ;-)

We usually stick with the daquaris. whatever fruit we have ripe in the yard. except for avocado.

Banana, mango, starfuit, mamey, hog plum, leche....

It used to be anything with sloe gin and 7 Up as part of the mixture. Sometimes, I mixed the slow gin with pure 7 Up, which I thought was very cool.

Today, it's any fresh juice, with or without a tablespoon of fiber. . .

Pina Coladas (Barcardi brand)... and don't forget a RUM RUNNER!

oh la la.... both of those will make you shiver on a hot summer day!

-- Anonymous, June 06, 2001

This brought a smile--you'll notice the author wrote 1/2 slice rum! He meant lemon, of course. Guess he already made a batch.

Hurricane (for each drink)

2 ounces Jero's Red Passion Fruit Cocktail Mix
2 ounces fresh lemon juice
2 ounces light rum
2 ounces dark rum
1\2 slice of rum
1 maraschino cherry

Mix liquid ingredients, then pour over crushed ice.
Garnish with orange and cherry.

Another version:

1 oz dark rum
1 oz light rum
1 tblsp passion fruit syrup
2 tsp lime juice

Mardi Gras Madness Punch
Yields: 8-9 quarts

Ingredients:
1 ice ring
40 ounce bottle grape juice
48 ounce can unsweetened pineapple juice
2-liter bottle lemon-lime soft drink
1 fifth vodka or more, to taste (or champagne)
2 oranges or lemons
2 limes

Place ice ring in bottom of punch bowl. [OG Note: If you don't have a punch bowl--or don't want to risk breakage--use a plastic container, not metal--like an ice chest or white plastic bucket
Add liquids in order given.
Float slices of oranges and limes on top.
Makes about 65 one-half cup servings.

Between the Sheets

1 ounce brandy
1 ounce Cointreau
1 ounce light rum
1 teaspoon lemon juice
crushed ice

Shake ingredients, strain into glass.

Blue Hawaii

1 ounce blue Curacao
1/2 ounce dark rum
1/2 ounce light rum
1 ounce orange juice
5 ounces pineapple juice, (or to fill)
3 ounces crushed ice

Pour crushed ice into blender. Add curacao, rum, pineapple juice, and orange juice, and blend until smooth. Pour into beer goblet. Garnish with an orange slice, pineapple chunk, and cherry on a toothpick.

Grasshopper

1/2oz. Green Creme de Menthe
1/2 oz. White Creme de Cacao
1/2 oz. Cream

Combine in a blender with 1 cup of crushed ice. Blend until smooth (about 30 seconds). Serve in a collins glass.

Here's a good pina colada recipe--but add the following: 1 tbs orange juice and a good pinch of nutmeg. Also try using pineapple sherbet instead of the pineapple juice--omit the crushed ice. I prefer Myers Jamaican rum, but that's up to you.

1 1/2oz. Light Rum
2 oz. Pineapple Juice
1 oz. Cream of Coconut
1/2 Banana 1/2 cup crushed ice

Combine all ingredients in an electric blender with the ice. Blend 20 - 30 seconds. Pour blended mixture into a Collins glass.

Garnish with a pineapple wedge and paper umbrella (of course!)

Mudslide, preferrably frozen.

A friend of mine in the Army used to make something called the "green Weenie" which was more or less equal parts Banana liqueur (sp) and Blue curacao. Quite mild-tasting, so he said, but the proof (alc content) was startlingly high.

here is my contribution....i've never had one myself, but my husband loved them when he used to drink:

Chilly Pee's

(in a blender mix well) 1 can of frozen "5-Alive" juice 3 cans of water as much vodka (or gin) as you can fit in

chill to the point of slushiness

(this drink will knock your socks off.....as well as other articles of clothing....and the reason for the name is that this drink will make you "shudder" when you pee)

good luck, yerf

LOL

I came from a family of bartenders, helped put me through college, also resulted in two wives and three kids, but that's another story..

This one got them every time...

1 Shot Vodka (Stoli's is best) 1 Shot Kahlua 1 Shot Banana Liquer 1 Scoop Chocolate Ice Cream 1/4 Banana (peeled, obviously)

Blend till smooth...

If you haven't scored after 2, add 1 shot Bacardi 151 to the above, but only for 1 more. After that, I believe you can be prosecuted...

carl....

you reminded me of a bartender i once bar-backed with

when he wanted to "get rid of" his girlfriend for the evening, he would match shots of tequilla with her while he worked

they would face each other....lick salt...down the shot....bite lemon....and then make the most horrible faces

by the faces he made, you could tell that he really hated the stuff

after a while, she would end up being driven home by someone, and i don't know if she ever found out that his shot glass contained only water

mebs, ever hear of the Visine trick? They eventually changed the formula, primarily because of the following...

You really wanted to get rid of someone, you added a couple of drops of Visine to their drink, about thirty minutes later, they would have a sever case of diahrea and vomiting, sort of took the steam right out of them...

Worked great :)

Then there was the old double shotting the date of a lady you had your eye on, get him to make an ass out of himself, then "rescue" her...

I was naughty....

LOL

you devil, you

i'd never heard about the visene thing.....sure am glad they changed it!!

can just see you as the "white knight" .....saving the ladies from dragons

hehe

I believe it was called a "Hop, Skip, and Go Naked"

In a very large cup or glass add one can of limeaid concentrate, refill empty (limeaid can) with vodka, add 1 can beer, add crushed ice to fill the cup.

Never saw a date that could drink 2 of these.
