Here we go, from UEFA.com

Fairplay Fair Play contenders line up for UEFA Cup spot

Nine of the eleven clubs who will go into the hat for next week’s UEFA Fair Play draw are now known and the two lucky winners will enter the 2001/2002 UEFA Cup qualifying round along with Shakhtior Soligorsk of Belarus, winners of the 2000/01 Fair Play competition.

Rayo the role model Each of the eleven willl be hoping to emulate, or even improve upon, the achievements of Rayo Vallecano, who reached the quarter-finals of this season's UEFA Cup after qualifying as a Fair Play winner.

Belarus finish top The following clubs have been nominated by their associations, each of which finished behind Belarus in the top 12. Shakhtior Soligorsk themselves were second in the Belarus domestic Fair Play competition, but the winners, FC Slavia Mozyr, have already qualified for the UEFA Champions League.

• Dunfermline Athletic FC, second in Scotland’s national Fair Play competition behind Celtic FC who have already qualified for UEFA Champions League.

• IFK Norrköping, winners of the Fair Play competition in Sweden.

• FC Valga, runners-up in the Estonian Fair Play league to FC Flora, who have already qualified for the UEFA Cup.

• Myllykosken Pallo-47, third in Finland’s Fair Play competition behind HJK Helsinki and FC Jokerit, who have both already qualified for the UEFA Cup.

• FK Teplice, second to AC Sparta Praha in the Czech Republic’s domestic Fair Play competition. Sparta have already qualified for the UEFA Champions League.

• Newcastle United FC, third in the English Fair League table after Ipswich Town FC and Manchester United FC, who have already qualified for the UEFA Cup and UEFA Champions League respectively.

• Slovakia’s representative will be known once their season finishes in mid-June.

• IBV Vestmannaeyjar of Iceland, third in that country’s Fair Play competition behind Fylkir, who will already compete in the UEFA Cup and KR Reykjavik, who will compete in the UEFA Champions League.

• Ukraine’s representative will be known once their championship is concluded on 19 June.

The draw will be made at 11.00 on 6 June at UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

Two places up for grabs, 1 in 5.5 chance.

-- Anonymous, June 05, 2001

not quite 1 in 5.5 it's actually 1 in 5.238095 (recurring)

getting into Europe the cheeky way keeps reccuring too

Ends justifying means ?

Just get there then worry about coping.

UEFA will fix it for us to be in. We are better for the competition than the rest of the teams in the draw put together.

-- Anonymous, June 05, 2001

I wonder what the odds of two teams named the same(ish) of getting through? Neuchatel and Newcastle. It's amai=zing what you read on the internet ;-)

Screach,

63-1

Not really, I just made it up.....

-- Anonymous, June 05, 2001

Dunfermline and us in black and white, any anoraks know about the rest ?

-- Anonymous, June 05, 2001

that's about 1 in 55 Screach

-- Anonymous, June 05, 2001

Hmmm - that's odd.

Mypa plays in arsenal-styled Red and White. If Mypa and Newcastle would be picked and then drawn against that would be easy qualification for the Toon and I could see us here in Finland. ;-)

Is a welcome in order, Jussi ? Don't remember seeing your handle before. Don't be backward in coming forward.

-- Anonymous, June 06, 2001

That'll be the Alzheimers PB.....Jussi's been around for a LONG time...

-- Anonymous, June 06, 2001

Ok maybe I'll just turn sideways. :) I've been reading the BBS since the Communicata days but not actually been able to contribute regularly. Too little spare time at work (what a pity) and not having intenet-connection at home. I've been considering quitting the job to be able to contribute here more... Seriously, the is always in order atleast in order you don't remember me. So hey to you, and all!
