going on a short getaway, need advice

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Travelite.FAQ Packing Guide : One Thread

Hi everyone, I'll be going to a theme/water park for the weekend with some of my friends in a couple of weeks. I was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice on what to pack. We'll be driving there and staying in a hotel for two nights, if that info helps any. Thanks in advance for you help. Cheers, Mike

Hi Mike;

For two days at a theme park / water park, you can easily go with just a little daypack. A couple of T-shirts, a couple of shorts (ones that you can use as swim trunks are handy), a pair of jeans... you don't need much more than you would use at home on a hot weekend.

I do strongly urge you to take water-resistant sunblock (any of the products out there with Parsol 1789 would be best, according to Paula Begoun at http://www.cosmeticscop.com/sunbasics/indexframe3.htm). A hat and sunglasses would also be helpful.

Most water parks have lockers so you don't have to worry about drowning your wallet.

If you're staying in a hotel they'll provide a towel for your bathroom, but you might consider bringing a swimmer's towel or something with you to the water park.

Have a great time!
