Error using WinonCD

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Hi. I have Win on CD 3.8 Power Edition. I am trying to make a VCD of lots of digital still images with music playing behind each photo series. I've composed my VCD - it has 9 albums containing in total about 255 images and 8 music files. When I begin the burn process, the "Make CD" process works it's way through until it comes time to "Build Disk / Perform makes". This process gets 60% of the way through, and then quits with the following error message.

Could not find dependency file D:\00102.mpl

Clicking on "OK" in this dialogue box quits the burn process.

Anyone know what the problem is here and what I can do?

Thanks

Dear Darryl,

I have encountered similar problems. Generally due to the fact that you have "overloaded" the CD. As a practice, I can cut a VCD wt 215 pics and a 25 mins length music file. Anything more, it fails.

I have also encountered problems if the wave file is not the 44.1KHz bitrate. In order to reduce the wave file size, I converted it to 32KHz - WinOnCD did not accept.

Hope this info helps.

Hi Steve

I've taken into account your answer and tried to burn a VCD with 10 images and no soundtrack. I still get the above error.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software, to no avail.

Nowhere can I find reference to what an .mpl file is or what a dependency file is supposed to be / do.
