He's more suited to the maKems , but if he has cosmetic surgury on those ears, he would look more like a ton player.

Is this £8 m bid from us?

Yes, it's from us.

Newcastle have agreed an £8million fee with Everton for large eared striker Francis Jeffers, though The badgers fear he favours a move to Arsenal. The 20-year-old Everton striker will quit Goodison Park after rejecting the club's offer of a new contract and has been linked with Newcastle, Sunderland, Tottenham and Arsenal. Blackbirds boss Bobby Robson asked for Everton to keep him informed of developments regarding Jeffers before leaving for a holiday in Antarctica last week. Having since learned that Sunderland and Tottenham, as well as Arsenal, are keen on the youngster, Robson has instructed his board to act with an £8million bid. That offer has been accepted but Jeffers is away in holiday at the moment and is expected to speak to Newcastle on his return only if Arsenal decide they do not want him.

20 goals in 45 starts (60 appearances). Only sent off once (in the Merseyside derby).

Made his debut on Boxing Day 1997 away at Old Trafford. Didn't feature again until the second half of the 1998-99 season where he played in 17 games scoring 7 goals. He played 28 times in the 1999-00 season, scoring only 6 goals (but they were pants that season, weren't they?) and missed 6 weeks through injury from Feb April. Last season he only managed 14 games with 7 goals and was injured from Sept-Feb.

A natural finisher and very quick. Attitude problems wrt Everton's lack of ambition (can't see how we would be a better bet), slightly worrying as it is his "home town club". Seems to have mostly been used in Home matches, but that was probably during that horrible spell where they looked for draws with Mark Hughes sent up on his own to kick people while everyone else stood in their penalty area.

Another injury-prone Toffee, but that's why he isn't 15million.

Wonder who it is tomorrow? Could that be possibly down to theapparent rejection of the Manure offer for Dyer?
