Is the close season time to talk movies. Pearl Harbour

Has anyone else seen it?

Didn't feel like three hours (nice comfortable seats and food). Could have been an hour shorter. Very predictable story line (besides the attack). The Americans came out as hero’s (as usual). Special effects were very good though, I found myself thinking cut to the attack.

Quite ironic mind the film was an hour longer than the actual attack.

I came out wondering what would have become of the Americans and the outcome of the WW II if the Japanese had gone round for a third attack.

What was the last film that you have been to see?

I haven't seen it yet and not sure whether I fancy going to watch it with my (Japanese) girlfriend. But when I went to Pearl Harbour, I was amazed at what a f-up it was by the Americans in the first place.

They didn't portray the Japanese in a bad light at all. Infact IMHO they came over as the most intellegent ones in the film. They also spoke in Japanese with subtitles, instead of english with impressed me.

There were a few Japanese students in with us, they seemed to enjoy it.

See Spot Run - just about all trips to the cinema involve my two wee- ins these days. It was very enjoyable, the jalapenos were devastating.

If they spoke in Japanese that means that they may not show it with English subtitles over here (bugger). The reason I don't fancy watching it with my girlfriend is that the Japanese kind of feel guilty about what happened. Apparently they appologise to people at Pearl Harbour (these are people who are under 50 years old and played absolutely no part in the war).
I think it would be kind of uncomfortable for me to watch it with her.

It might be mate. I guess you will have to ask her if she wants to go.

On another film the Mummy Returns was great!

the film was an hour longer than the actual attack.

I also read that more money was spent shooting the attack than was spent on the original attack.

My latest movie was "See Spot Run". I was amazed to see it universally panned by the critics I read on the Web. Tara laughed like a drain throughout and is clamouring to see it again. Do movie critics not like children? Very funny given it's target audience.

I went to see "The Gift" with the missus thanks to an ace bit of babysitting from Dougal. Keanau Reeves was surprisingly good as an abusive husband (seriously, genuinely scary). I hate horror films, but got to see Katie Holmes with her kit off which wasn't too much of a burden.

I don't usually get scared at the shock and scream flicks but I was hidding behind my coat at The Gift!.

Pretty easy to guess who the bad guy was mind

Theres one funny bit in it. I cried with laughter, but my mate couldn't see the funny side of it at all. Must be the geordie humour!

I enjoyed Purely Belter. Not a "great" movie, but an amusing way to pass a couple hours.

Haven't seen any movies lately, but did watch the Tony awards(for Broadway shows) last night which featured what had to be a first on US network television. The cast of the Full Monty actually went the full monty! Full back, but creative lighting meant the tv audience didn't get the full front. Judging by their reaction the audience at the show definitely saw it all. It's certainly one way to wake up an award show audience. ;-)
