No problems - we all have phobias (as detailed on a recent thread). I'm sure a suitable "neutral venue" could be found one day.

Superkev, A question that has crossed my mind. Why if you live in Gateshead did you decide to me a Sunderland fan? It's like someone from Pennywell deciding to be a Newcastle fan. Have you Sunderland family conections, or just a death wish?

Probably doing better at the time Rik, it could have been worse, it could have been L'pool or ManU at least this way he actually gets to the games.

Probably doing better at the time ? That would make him a primary school kid.

Super, I live up in Derwentside and you can still see the damn thing.

I have often wondered (hypothetically of course) if you could hit it with an artillery piece from my back garden, given a good wind...:oD

What about you ML#3?

Why Sunderland and not Newcastle?

Or, in my case, why Newcastle and not Sunderland ?

-- Anonymous, June 04, 2001

Doesn't really apply in my case, I'm a born and bred Sunderland mackem who moved to Derwentside 2 months ago. I love Sunderland, but didn't want to live there cos it's something in the past for me.

Ok PB why Newcastle for you?

Or anyone else for that matter?

Not be able to get a clean shot in from your house OML#3, maybe if you zeroed in from Pontop Pike, taking a line across Bute Park you get lucky, incoming, incoming , incoming , hums toon from Mash !!!!

The answer to my love for safc is simply that i was taken there as a child and it stuck.Pretty boring really.

-- Anonymous, June 04, 2001

if I had to choose one adjective relating to supporting SAFC, I don't think it would be boring. More like Satan's roller coaster ride from hell...

Make sure you bring your bairns up red and white.
