Help with Panasonic Plugin settings

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I'm editting video using premier 5.1 and the panasonic plugin 2.3

It's been working fine for almost a year, but recently when i'd go and export my movie, it'd encode about 10 minutes worth and then freeze. I got pissed at this and just wiped out everything on my main HDD and started over. When it was working well, it'd take about 5 hours to export my entire 40min movie. But now that i've re-installed everything on god's green earth and tried to export a movie...it says that it's going to take "about a month"

That is, of course, unacceptable...The settings, to my knowledge, are all the same for both adobe and the plugin. The plugin is set for videoCD NTSC and mpeg1 standard. Can ANYBODY help me...please!!! I'd even take suggestions on alternate plugins to use...and how to get them (wink, wink). But i'd first like to know if anyone knows what's going on. Thanks!

When you say that you "wiped out everthing" do you mean that you reformated that HD and reinstalled the OS, etc,...? If so, depending on your OS level you may have to reinstall OS patches to get the performance back up with your MB chipset (bus mastering, ATA-100, etc.) Look for yellow "!" in Device Manager.

If you merly reinstalled your application and still get errors or performance issues you may have a dorked up OS Registry. The best way for the layman to correct Registry issues is to run Win9x Setup again. Of course that won't always work with Win95b without some minor surgery.
