WRAL-TV Kitten Spends Two Of Its Nine Lives In One Day
Kitten Rescued From Rush Hour Traffic, But Gets Stuck In Car

WAKE COUNTY, 4:36 p.m. EDT June 1, 2001 -- A little kitten in Wake County had to use up at least two of her nine lives.

Maggie the kitten's tale began last week on Interstate 40. When Nancy Case spotted the tiny kitten cowering under a guardrail during rush hour, she had to stop.

"If she moved to either side, she could have been hit. It kind of makes me ill. I think somebody dropped her off," she says.

When Case got home, Maggie disappeared. Case thought she had jumped out until she started hearing sounds from the dashboard. She went to Capital Ford in Raleigh to check it out.

Service technicians pulled out the radio and the glove box before they finally rescued Maggie in the air conditioner blower motor.

"The cat was was going to come out one way or another," says technician Eddie Bell.

Case did not have to spend any money at Capital Ford. The service team saved the kitten, free of charge.
