Players' extracurricular activities

The Wozza thread got me thinking....(uh oh!)

How many of our players voluntarily use their free time/close season to work in football-related activities? Such as working on coaching badges, coaching kids, studying sports medicine. Things that can improve themselves, give back to the community, and prepare them for life after they finish playing.

I think Wozza is fairly isolated at our place - although Steve Harper seems to do all sorts in his free time. I gather from Scene @ St James' that Shay is studying Zen and the Art of Goalkeeping after reading about Barthez's relaxation techniques. Does this quality, Ciara? Aaron is learning to fish and getting married.

If Harper does as much as I've heard, I wonder if he's ever home! He'll be another excellent candidate for coaching/managing someday, if he wants to do it. He seems unusually intelligent and level-headed for such a young player.

So Shay will lead the team meditation and yoga? And Aaron the fishing expeditions? ;-)

I bet the defensive unit struggles to play peaceably together as Shay and Aaron need nice calm, sernity for their pursuits and the time Barton is practising his bloody clapping

Actually Barton's 'clapping' began when he was trying to wave away the smoke from Shay's incense. Ever the gentleman, Barton just said he was clapping and it just kind of grew from there.

i remember the last time I had as many "hobbies" as Steve Harper, lets put it this way, Mrs Harper should be suspicious.
