Autorun Windows Media Player using WinonCD

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I am trying to make a VCD autorun with Windows Media Player. I am painstakingly close as I have tracked down an .asx file that is required. Theoreticaly I am supposed to be able to assign autorun file to this .asx file and away she goes. However, it is not working. Anybody have any luck with this or alternately, anyone know of a different media player I could bundle with VCD that would basically self extract and autorun when disc inserted. This is for clients so the media player would have to be distributable under the license agreement. Thanks, I know this is a long winded question

Although it's for the EZCD Video Creator, you might take a look on the www.pcphotovideo.com web site. There's a section with detailed instructions on how to do this with the EZCD VCD creator. I would think you could do the same with other burning sofware, as long as you can add things to the CD root before burning.

The example on that page will "autostart" a VCD in any PC that has a windows media player 6.x or better. Hope this helps ...
