I wanna know wht programs you used and how you did it cuz i cant get it to work on my sony, all i know is you use cdrw's and my cdrw's are compatible

I used Sony brand CD-RWs to copy a VCD for a friend who has some model Sony DVD player. He said they worked fine in his player. I know that all CD-RW discs are not alike, just like all CD-R discs are not alike. Maybe you need to switch brands. I have read that supposedly Prime Peripherals brand of CD-R will work in Sony DVD players, but I have not been able to test this yet. Several people have posted in various forums insisting that they work.

I have a sony dvd player DVP-S360, which is suppose to play VCDs. I have tried prime peripherals and had no luck. I tried burning Audio CDs as well as VCDs with no success. I played them on a friends pioneer DVD player with no problem. I was able to get a sony CDRW to play the VCD in my player, once. I haven't been able to get it to play again though. I should mention that the prime peripheral media I used was 700MB. I haven't tried the 650MB, (if they even make that).

I have a Sony-DVPS560D and it seems to play the only VCD I've ever tested in it. I downloaded a sample ".cif" image (it's only a 30 sec clip) and burned it onto the freebie CD-RW disc that came with my CD burner. The CD-RW disc is labelled as: "Imation CD-RW 4x-10x (high- speed) compatible 650MB 74min". The front is silver, with slighty different silver ink. The back is mostly-silvery/slightly-blue with a distinct blue center ring. Hope this helps.

p.s. I just tried reburning the same sample on a "Memorex CD-RW 700MB 80min 1x-4x multispeed". It also works. This CD-RW disc has same backside coloring as the Imation one listed above. This came from a 5-pack at BestBuy. Part # is 3202 3406. Packaging is very green. No problems during playback at recording with 2x. Problems encountered at recording 4x. The Imation CD-RW above was recorded at 4x.
