Big football brother

What a great concept, putting a fan from 20 premiership team into a house together to see who would get on with each other and who they would elect to throw out.

Would the Man U fan be first out? Would the scousers be trusted? Would the Geordie and maKem become close friends?

Is anyone into the new series of "Big Brother"?

-- Anonymous, June 01, 2001

I can't get into Big Brother. I've flicked onto it occasionally on E4 where it's live most of the day and it's absolute crap, boring as hell, just a load of people sitting around looking miserable - a bit like SJP on some occasions last season.

The "Highlights" are best, I couldn't be bothered watching someone making scones at 2 o'clock in the morning. Perhas when they start having sex in the den it'll be worth watching during the night.

Quite suprised to se Penny the dopey school teacher nominated. Shame about the blonde welsh bimbo going as well. She would have been my favorite to "do it first" and reckon when she finds out that she's been nominated she'll start getting hr kit off and getting more friendly with the boys in an attempt to get the viewers vote to stay.

Mindless drivel - right up there alongside Survivor, Eastenders, Brookside, Home & Away, Neighbours, etc., etc., etc.
While it's certainly not to my taste, I've excluded Coronation St. as at least it was original, and is carried off with tongue ever so slightly in cheek.

Mindless drivel ? It's brilliant, mind you I agree with the other shows being crap, I also put Corrie and the rest of the soaps in that catergory.

Cheap television that says more about those who watch it than the protagonists themselves.

As for Premiership Big Brother, it would certainly raise money via tele-voting but I doubt it would have enough to last long. Especially if it were 20 men!

I'm not a big TV watcher but Big Brother is certainly up there along with Sky Sports centre(kirsty Gallacher ), the Simpsons, Trigger happy TV and Graham Norton.

Supose most of you lads are into the diccovery chanels, the finantial programs and Current affairs , whilst the girlies will all be into soaps?

Bobby - `Cheap television which says more about the people who watch it....etc.` So what exactly do you think it says? (:o)

I like the idea behind Big Brother, but I don't find it that interesting at the moment, nothing important has happened really, a few petty arguments and that was it. The first one was good as it was original (to the UK) but it seems to have lost it's novelty value now.

The Premiership Big Brother would be better with a representative from each club, 10 hard as nails players and 10 none English speaking foreigners.

Why 10 hard as nails players and 10 manure fans?

Just as a slight aside to the Big Brother discussion, although I am more than happy to watch the programme, I have also been very involved in the campaign headlined on the following site:

www.bakalo.co.uk/shihtzunewsuk/

While I am more than happy to watch consenting adults pretending to act perfectly naturally infront of hidden cameras, I draw the line at throwing ten week old Shih-Tzu puppies into the equation for purely `entertainment` purposes. Their reactions of bewilderment, anxiety and confusion would be totally genuine, and the fact that the idea was even considered was, to me, deeply offensive and reprehensible.

If you happen to look at the site, further down the page is a link to the WSPA.....this is one of the reasons why I don`t care if England don`t qualify for the Japan/Korean World Cup. This WSPA site is mild.....I have seen much, much worse from Korea.(:o|
