Back to the three day week!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Apparently before I was born, people were forced into three day weeks. Well I have been this week and I think they are a bloody marvellous idea. With a Bank holiday on Monday and a company sailing trip tomorrow, the wind up and wind down periods have been closer!

Off to the South Coast, near Lymington tomorrow. Our company have entered a team of six into a competition which involves two races on Saturday. Seeing as we are being trained on Friday and I've never sailed before I thought I better take my passport in case we end up in France! If we do I suspect the yacht will be considerably heavier on the return crossing due to the booze we've taken on board.

What's everyone else doing for the weekend?

I've long thought people should not be required to work more than 4 days per week. 3 is even better!

Working at the Freedom match tonight. I get home locker room duty cause the usual person can't make it, plus get to train a newbie for the away side(my usual post), cause one backup has disappeared and the other once sprained her ankle. I don't think any of them are NUFC trainees, but I could be wrong. ;-)

Tomorrow, last day on my money for nothing temp job and if the agency don't come up with an assignment for me for next week sharpish, I'll be signing up with a new agency! In the evening, going over to my friend's apt to look at the newly hatched baby pigeons in one of her potted plants.

Rest of the weekend, trying not to spend money as I may be without a paycheck for a week or two again. Probably listen to Ireland's WCQ on Saturday if I can find a webcast, a couple MLS matches in the afternoon and evening on telly. And looking for new ways to badger employers and get them to realize they need to hire me. :-)

Ahoy DB matey - I'll be doing much the same as you but sailing from San Tropez. Monday's a bank holiday here so a long hot competitive weekend, I think.
