A P alling move

It was in the papers on sunday, basically ferguson wants lots of good players, 3 have said no, in vieira's case arsenal have said no. Going there now would be a stupid move for any top flight player. The boss of my old company once told me that almost every business that soared under the leadership of one powerful man slumps badly when he leaves, Barrats for example, nufc - Hall, and so on...

Swifty's boss was partly right. But if the powerful CEO fulfills one of his prime responsibilities, viz to ensure capable succession, the Company should continue to prosper. My own hunch is that the organization at OT that Fergie helped to create will continue to run smoothly after his departure. It would be asking too much of the gods to have Gullit or Daglish nominated as his successor -- they could engineer a swift descent to the nether regions.

I really think Gullit and Dalglish were highly underrated, completely unable to fulfill their true potential with a club like NUFC, and would blossom at the likes of OT.

Gullit would have to offer us an awful lot of monet to get Marcelino though. Maybe even pounds.

I wonder if Celtic fans believe that Dalglish the manager was underrated. If he and Gullit were as good as Ciara believes, there has not been a stampede to their doors by Premiership chairmen. The problem as I see it was that they were both highly overrated, and NUFC paid the penalty.

It was a joke.

I fancy Manure could struggle post-Taggart - at least I hope so!
Unless the same level of success they have become used to is maintained, the supporters will turn ugly uglier, and quickly, and they will inevitably resort to waving the chequebook to fix it - indeed there are already signs of this approach, even before he has left!
What Taggart has so carefully built could crumble to sand.

This could be avoided, but only if they appoint the right Manager to replace SAF. The job will be so difficult that I believe their Board were entirely right in not agreeing to consider Steve McLaren - good coach he may be, but he is not equipped to handle the pressure this job will inevitably create. I have a feeling they may go for the Bayern Munich Manager - Ottmar Hixfeld (?).

Departing coaches sometimes loose authority, and Old Trafford's dressing room has more than its share of egos. Squabbling with the Board doesn't help. Who would be suprised if Ferguson left before his contract was up. The suggestion Gordon Brown will recruit him to lead an anti-drug campaign is just a bad joke surely?
