i just found a brownie 2a hidden in the house i just bought- very interested in seeing if it works- is there a way to defog the viewfinders?

You're lucky. These are the easiest Brownies to clean-up. Just remove the screws on the front of the camera and remove the faceplate. The construction of the viewfinder will be pretty clear. Just be very careful when removing the mirrors. Don't be disappointed if it doesn't clean up completely you can still get some interesting pictures.
