greenspun.com : LUSENET : Central of Georgia Railway Historical Soc : One Thread

Guys.......I'm looking for any good slides or photos of C of GA wrecking equipment, maintenance of way cars, express boxcars, tank cars, depressed center flatcars, and any of the specialty cars such as covered gons. Willing to trade scans of anything I currently have....lots of blue/gray motive power, etc, some passenger & freight action shots. and others... No commercial reproduction will be made on my end and I expect same from anyone I trade with. My primary interest is modeling from good, clear photos. Please e-mail me directly.....Thanks for any help.......Robert

Hey Robert, I have a good collection of CG work equipment. Most of my Wrecker shots are from John La Rue and C.L. Goolsby had some of the Work cars and Work train shots. I have all of the CG Wreckers and several shots of them in different years. I have one of Wrecker #30207 dated 2-10-52 in Columbus, Ga.(Left side shot) from Bob's Photo Service Neg# FCG 11. Let me know what your looking for. I'd like to see what you may have also. Don Worthy

Sounds like a great color guide book from Morning Sun in the making. Has anyone approached them about a CofG book? It's something that we could all use, and when coupled with the society's lettering diagram book, we could crank out some terribly accurate models of CofG equipment.
