Was Lady Jane catholic or protestant?

Jane was a protestant of the new learning encouraged by Katharine Parr and this is what all the fuss was about when Jane became Queen. The Duke of Northumberland's idea was to oust Catholic Mary Tudor, next in line to be Queen, after putting Jane on the throne and the rest is history. He did not succeed and eventually, like Jane lost his head to the axeman.
