Problem with interlacing svcd with LSX

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I have been trying to make a "correct" svcd. Outputing 480*576 PAL 25fps from original 720*576 PAL 25fps. When LSX 3.5 picks it up it says that it is progressive scan rather than interlaced. The source is interlaced. I assume it is due to the compression that it becomes progressive scan. How do I get around this?

I have been using Flask 0.594 & 0.6.

This is not an answer, I wish it was... I have the same problem with mpeg2's encoded with an AIW Radeon (ligos, aswell I think?). Whether they are interlaced or not when encdoded, they always read as progressive at playback. Did you find anything out, please let me know.
