greenspun.com : LUSENET : North Carolina Raves : One Thread

I currently moved over here from Texas for college. I stay in Greensboro, and can't seem to find too many people that rave. The scene is HUGE back in Texas, but i want to know where the parties are over here in NC. If you have any info please tell me.....thanks P.L.U.R.

Raves in NC are few and far between unless you live around Charlotte. There use to be alot around Greenville, however not anymore.....No one will let us use their buildings anymore.....Good Luck

Check out www.carolinaspins.com The info is pretty up to date. Later. Charlotte scene used to be pretty good, but the city passed some stupid dance club law so clubs have to close at 2:00 am. No telling how it will effect the scene.

I represent a bunch of DJs in the Durham/Chapel Hill area. We are throwing a rave on the 3rd of November at the Basement in Durham. If anyone wants to come and be a part of our first major event, email me for more information. Following is a text version of the flier.

The Ashtray Cult Production Group Presents Awakenings Halloween Costume Ball Sat. November 3rd, The Basement, Durham, NC

The Ashtray Cult are veterans of the rave scene and have been involved with some of the biggest and best events in the south. Join us as we celebrate our long awaited monthly night with a Halloween bash you won’t want to miss.

Featuring the Ashtray Cult Elite…

Rain is the definition of unpredictable. His tech trance and breakbeat sets have electrified audiences and dance floors all over the south. Be sure to get there early so as not to miss his funky style and a ton of dance floor surprises. John K, the master of seamless mixing and relentless beats is quickly becoming a NC favorite. Prepare yourself for deep mixing, growling bass lines and perfectly places beats as his progressive house tracks light up the night. Heed is here to live up to his nickname, “the Sasha of the Ashtray Cult.” His progressive trance sets are the perfect way to close the night as he floats through deep mixes and awe-inspiring trance with seemingly no effort.

Hey, for all of you near chapel hill, a new place opened up a couple of months ago. i went for the first time this past weekend, David Henry was spinning. The club is pretty sweet. Open atmosphere, all types of people here. If you look around a bit though, you can find the clubbers. I don't know what the place is called, it's where the old dollar movie theater used to be, right behind franklin street. If anyone around here knows anyone that breakdances, please let me know. Chris
