Where may one find May Daze results?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : orienteer kansas : One Thread

It seems to me that the Stampede was held just a couple of hours ago now, but so far I have been unable to locate the results. Does anyone know if there is a web site out there where one may find May Daze results?

A good place to look would be at the Rocky Mountain 1000 Day web site.

The Stampede results are out and once again RMOC has avoided the humiliation of sinking to the ONA Standard! Those desperados in the Medicine Bow Chapter know how to get the job done!

So far it looks like Stefan Huesler is for real! That Swiss orienteer lived up to his pre-race hype by cruising to an easy victory over RMOC's own Neal Barlow. RMOC managed to pack the rest of the top five with hometown heroes however, perhaps taking advantage of PTOC's Dicky N's lowlander hemoglobin status which relegated him to a 6th place showing but not before outkicking SLOC's ever-spunky Orlyn Skrien.

Lance Armstrong has his "boys" out training in LaRamie for the upcoming Tour de France apparently and the best orienteer among them was Jan Ingebrigtsen who managed a top ten showing.

No need to mention there has been a lot of whispers concerning J-J's status. His name didn't appear among the Stampede finishers and rumor has it he was seen on-line with Yahoo Messenger only yesterday! Is he holding out for the "real" racing to come?

The real test comes on Sunday when the Swampfox himself is likely to be making a bid for the gold! Don't underestimate that Swampfox in hilly limestone/sandstone terrain because they don't make'em much better!

The Swampfox was too much occupied with control settting and retrieval and other meet-tending duties to permit a competition run on Day 2, unfortunately. Nevermind that he had to draw up extra Day 2 maps earlier in the week. It's possible that Swampfox won't be another "A" event until 2002, what with a rather thin competition calendar this Fall.

Some say the Swampfox has his eyes firmly on capturing a second Possum Trot title. I don't know, but it could happen what with the thin competition calender this Fall.
