Actually, that's not quite true - but it was all I could think of to get on the answers page (doh - the would have done as well). I'm still working, and believe it or not, while youse lot are enjoying a holiday on Monday, I will be "entertaining" some of our European colleagues. Seems they don't have a Bank Holiday (or whatever they're called over there) on Monday.

Aah hope it p!$$es doon - not really. Enjoy yersell's.

PS. I think I'll cut the hedge and do some grass before I "fly" on Sunday ;-)

Been meaning to ask all day Screacher - just didn`t seem to get round to it.(:o)

Not a big Bank Holiday fan myself - living in a holiday area and all that. Tend to stay close to home - no point in sitting in queues of traffic, if you see what I mean.

I guess I will carry on gardening - launched a massive offensive this week (hence the lack of postings on here!) Toyed with the idea of going to Crufts tomorrow, but can`t drum up the enthusiasm. Thought about going to the new Rockingham circuit on Monday with Pete - but we decided that they were taking the mickey a bit with the prices. It`s the inaugural(sp) weekend, so you think they would be encouraging a good crowd. They must be pretty confident, that`s all I can say. As per the norm for any sporting venue, lots of `corporate` packages on offer too. Motor racing is definately becoming one of the most elitist sports.(:o|

Probably out for dinner on Saturday.

How about you? Anything exciting planned for the weekend? (:o)

You mean apart from cutting the hedge and "doing some grass"? Yeah. I might start clearing the garage in readiness for finally moving out.

Then on Sunday, I hit the airport! Wheyhey!!!

You mentioned Rockingham. Is Pete going? I must say, I'd love to go. I used to poo-poo oval racing, then I spent some lonely afternoons in US channel-hoping (sic) and got really hooked. Never been to a meeting, but the speed, the danger and the sheer spectacle can't be beaten. And on a short circuit, you get to see them more more often than it's taken me to type this! Good "all round" entertainment.

Airport as in coming home, or going away?

Oval racing - Pete and I keep promising ourselves that we will make it out to the Indy 500 one of these days, but it`s quite early in the year, and it never quite seems the right time to take a break. One of these days though.

We are looking forward to seeing some good racing at Rockingham though - just didn`t feel like paying fancy prices for vintage bike and car racing.(:o)

So is Rockingham on the telly?

Saw a piece on Rockingham on BBC World News tonight. Found it a bit amusing as 'oval' racing is a redneck sport in the US. Though there are many non-rednecks watching it too. What kind of audience does it draw in the UK? Would it be considered a more upscale thing? Or a sport for the everyday person?

As for me, never could watch a race. Going in circles for hours = BOR-ing! ;-)

As for my weekend(wahey! it's a bank holiday here as well!), cat-sitting, cleaning, and probably try to get in a bit of tax-free outlet shopping in Delaware. Weather forecast for rain all weekend has killed my original plans of touring Civil War battlefields in Western Maryland for the time being.
