Where'd you get that number from Mac? if you're saying that 4% is 2000 then you're saying that they have 50,000 season ticket holders?!?!?!?!

How many season ticket holders do they actually have?

The Mackems have about 40,000 full season ticket holders, and about 4,000 half season ticket holders.

What is half a season ticket? Do you just get to go to half the matches. Do you have to leave at half time, or do you just see half the match cos the flat-pack stadium has particularly bad restricted views???

When they were doing quite well before Christmas they offered a chance to fill the empty/free-to-kids seats by selling half season tickets to glory hunters. This was billed as a way to ensure a place for Man Utd and the Wear-Tyne derby.

Half season ticket for half man-half chimp?

-- Anonymous, May 25, 2001

Yeah I know, I laughed when I first heard of half-season tickets - mainly because my Mackem uncle bought one (the season they got promoted)

My uncle then said that he wouldn't renew it the following season because apart from Aresnal and Man Utd, there was no-one worth going to see. I honestly couldn't believe what he said but he meant it.

Is this the state of all Sunderland "fans" - they go to Le Stade de Merde to watch the other team?
