It's ridiculous. I object to the making of this film with every fibre of my being.......but I shall doubtless be queuing round the clock to get in :-(

I'm a bit like that Softie....really really don't think they can do it justice or do it properly but am desperate to see it....I even got a bit annoyed at the trailer with how they're pronouncing Sauron....it just doesn't feel right to me :)))

I'm sure I went to see a film of LotR about 20 yrs ago. I assume this is a new one

Don't ever mention that film near me again Geordie.....ok? that was the biggest pile of poo ever and only covered a fraction of the story....it ended towards the end of the 2nd book!
-- Anonymous, May 25, 2001
agreed Gav... it was indeed a large pile of smelly stuffSo who has made this new version?

New Line cinema have bet just about everything they've got on it.....they've spent 300 million+ on it and are making 3 films rather than trying to cram it all into one....they've shot all 3 at once but are gonna release them one a year....decemeber this year, 2002 and 2003....Film has Elijah Wood, Ian McKellan, Viggo Mortensen, Liv Tyler, Sean Bean and a load of other fairly famous people in it....

Liv Tyler does it for me then, when/where does it open??!

Not til December DeB :((

Sure this isn't some dodgy sodomising porn pic of yours Gav? ;-)Probably will go and see it, although I've managed my whole life to avoid the books - but hey, I'm just an unconventional guy :-)

No, I've got my movies of your missus safely hidden Bobster....

usually classics are trashed on film, lord knows why, probably the editing, leaving parts of it out that may actually be remembered by somebody. That said..... I have no qualms gboing to see it.
-- Anonymous, May 25, 2001
I must admit I'm a bit worried about how they've edited it for screenplay...I know that they've given Liv Tylers character a bigger part in the film (she plays Arwen...Aragorn's intended)....in the book it's a tiny part....

Gav - just re-reading the books and touring South Island NZ where they filmed most of it. Will be going to Queenstown and [whether depending] will be visiting the sets - want me to bring you a some hobbit memorabilia back with me?! ;)
-- Anonymous, May 25, 2001
Hey Min! You could pass as a hobbit. Get thee some work on the side...
-- Anonymous, May 31, 2001

Oi - raphael - watch yer back!Gav - will see what i can do - something from Liv Tyler's wardrobe perhaps? They haven't cottoned on to marketing LOTR stuff here yet so there may be bits of the set floating around - like the odd forest or beard...
