King Kev? City's new man

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

OK, sweepstake- Minutes into press conference when Kev says he had no intention of going back into management but City was just too big a challenge (meaning they offered him so much money he could hardly say no)

Days before he gets in his car along the M62 saying "it not like the brochure"

Amount of extra cash offered to get him to change his mind.

Amount of times he says "watch this space" to the press in one season.

Month City gain promotion.

How many points City win the league buy.

How many seasons before City beat Manure 5-0

HOw many stone the fat bloke weighs when he worships Keegan during a 5-0 demolition of Manure.

Amount of times Alan Green says Keegan is a rubbish manager in one season.

At least that 'someone' will have to wait till at least next year or the Cup to 'come round your area with the ex-girlfriend and parade her, then beat us to a pulp!'

He'd just love it if he could beat Man U in a derby game, opening game of 2002-2003, new united manager getting stuffed, too nice

Now Howey will be able to re-acquaint Keegan with the 'Drinking Culture' like he and Venison used to share at SJP!

Good luck to the man, he's going to need it. Promotion or the Priory Clinic.

Feels more like an ex-girlfriend who you'd grown sick of and were glad to see the back of getting together with some thug who you know is going to treat her very poorly.

I can see it now , Kevin looking wistfully into the far distant yonder on interview saying "This is a big club , a sleeping giant , I have always in heart had an affinity with city , now if Sir Bill Kenwright can get the musical rights to "Pearl Harbour" , he has promised me the funds so I can buy some quality. As a first act Kevin has released all on a YTS scheme at club , Royle Academy pupils have been boarded out to Oldham, Stockport for next term. The backroom staff have been given leave of notice and it is rumoured that Arthur Cox will be installed as Director of Football, Terry Mac as social convenor/fitness coach, he will return to his old club to sign Warren Barton, Garry Speed , Robert Lee , and be thawarted in a bid for Steve Harper. Alan Shearer has catorigically denied that he has been approached as asst manager. Follow Kevin`s adventures daily in the Financial Times and check out his website, www.kevin@nearly.man.perm

Bye bye Beardo.

Keegan succeeded at the managerial graveyard known as SJP so it will be interesting to see what he can do for City. He's obviously fond of a challenge, but having said that the potential is certainly there for City to be a big club.

Unless City give him zillions to buy players then I just don't see it happening again. He had Englands best players and he still couldn't do it consistantly. Tacticaly, he hasn't got it. The problems at city are too big to be solved by keegans style and personality, if it gets too much he'll walk out, he did it to us after putting five past manure and 7 past spurs, he did it to Fulham and England. I don't know why people still give the man chances.

Nope I'm with Jonno on this one....good luck to him, City have potential and I think he'll do well for them....I still wish he'd come back to us....

Buff, you must be psychic! ;-)

Sprouting Life's KK quotes from the press conference:
"I'm delighted to be here.

"It doesn't take much persuading to get you to join a club like this..

"It's a very similar situation to Newcastle, although not exactly the same. Maybe they've under-achieved in recent years.

"I think this club is truly a sleeping giant, and it's my job to turn it round, with the help of a lot of other people."

its cyrano de bergerac, Buffs behind the light blue curtain whispering "watch this space...", though Buffs no big nosed ugly guy who finds it hard to attract ladies or managerial jobs, so thats where the story takes a detour.

"When you're a kid your mum always says 'don't go near the main road - so that's probably why a lot of people are scared of this place." Keegan 24th May 2001
