Apparantly he's 'retiring due to injury' rather than the Club getting rid - deoes this mean we cop some insurance money? If so, surely enought o cover Robbie Elliott's signing on fee.

I would imagine in the time he has been here that his policy ran out and the likely payout would be significantly reduced. I feel that Serrant should be the one getting any money anyway. To have his career cut short at 24 must be terrible for the lad.

Can't remember what we paid for him - £1 Million? But no player is signed these days without insurance, surely the policy works both ways i.e. Player AND Club benefit if a career is cut short. I'm sure any forthcoming monies would be fairly insignificant, but hey, 'owt's better than nowt' as someone's probably said a million times in a third rate sitcom featuring Bill Maynard set in a stereotypical grim northern town.
