Let me explain the title:

I have a 98 Explorer. It came with Wilderness AT tires from Firestone. They were from the Illinois plant [Decatur, I think] which everyone saw on the news.

Last September, I experienced a rapid deflation of the right rear tire. Not a big deal since I was moving at about 10 mph and happened to be in front of a tire store. Pulled in and they changed it. Ford gave me all new tires from a different Firestone plant [one that had no problems]. Still Wilderness AT's.

[As an aside, we don't drive this to and from work, I have a Focus (the way mine is set up it is the most fun that I've had since I traded in the 3 series BMW; but that is another story)].

Well Ford has announced another recall of tires. I checked by email and they are going to replace my tires again. Second oil change since August; new tires; get the picture. Less than 8000 miles on this set.

Must cost them a bundle.
