video cds decompressors needed

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Please can someone help me, I have a new athlon 1.2 computer, and need, some video decompressors, as my films don't seem to show video, just the sound. If anyone out there, can e-mail me, either the decrompressors, or a site where they can be found. I would much appreciate it.

Secondly, any video veiwers that could be sent to me/ or, the name of a site with latest freeview, veiwers on, would be v/useful

thanks

I have the same problem. I am using that bloody useless Realplayer which has downloaded itself onto my system and they tell me to contact the video producer. Great! File ext which do not play is.avi Sound is OK though.

try searching for divx players. They typically have codecs (decompressors)built in and then your real player can find them on your system. If not then use the divx player and viola. www.divx.com
