I believe Nicky Summerbee should take Steve Froggatt to court for implying he can tackle. I loved him like a bruvva, but the lad had a serious putting one's foot-in motivational discrepancy.

Seriously though, I think it could be another "Bosman" - in a country where legal practice is based on precedent, it could destroy the very sport. Imagine a pub team having to take out 1 million quid's indemnity insurance? Absurd.

Wasn't there something similar a few seasons ago? fought out in Newcastle crown? seem to remember the plaintiff coming out on top, in regards to monetary settlements. Tend to agree with ML#3 - a very dangerous precedent in a contact sport like footy.

I guess it could be considered reasonable in an extremely obvious case of violent conduct akin to assault, but in general no.
