Could the club buy Leazes terrace?

And tastefully reposition it? It's been a problem for years, whilst we can't just buldoze the thing, can it be re-posotitioned so that future plans for SJP can be put in place without so much nannying from our illustrious council.

Dream on sunshine! If only. The problem with LT (no, not wor LT - that would take too much time) is that it is not just a simple "street". The particular section in question forms part of a quadrangle, and to simply bulldoze part of it would not go down favourably - and moving it would prove far too expensive.

IMHO, the place could be left in situ. We should simply build over the top of it. Obviously, there may be a few p!$$ed off inhabitants, but we've got a pretty good track record on that score - just ask that woman (how time makes memory fade) who loused up the SOS campaign. We would need to buy the "offending" bit of the terrace, and turn it into a museum/trophy room/hospitality suite.

Then, all we'd need to do is take Softie's advice on what to do with the Metro station. In true "new daddy" style, he commented last Friday that "they should just divert the track ( couple of half curves woudl do the trick), fill in the current station area and change the steps leading to the Strawberry". Methinks he's been reading too many Hornby catalogues recently.

Canny idea mind! If ManUre can build over the railway at Stretford (I hear they plan to) then we can do this. DeB - will you please submit an estimate......and "ooh, that could be a bit difficult" is not an acceptable answer.

I think Screacher's suggestion of the Club buying the property is the most viable idea. Without residents the light impingment and nuisance issues disappear, while the buildings can be maintained visually intact. They couldn't be that expensive to buy.

The terrace could then be used to house the Greenspun Arms, the ITK Curry Hoose, Ken's Internet Cafe, and a Mrs. Miggin's Sports Medicine Clinic for professional footballers.

Could be tasteful. If the club is successful & we are to be a "National" stadium we do need to continue deevelopment. Although there isn't much need for it now, I think we should at least clear the way now.
