Cordone and Hamilton have both been given Free Transfers, along with Kevin Gallacher. The club have reportedly offered Glass a new contract.

Was Hamilton out of contrct or has it cost us some dosh to pay him off?

Ya, heard about Glass. Great news I think. They are visiting the BBS after all.

he joine in spring 97 as Dalglish's first signing, can't believe even Kenny would have given him a 5 year contract

On a second thought it could also be bad news. If they think Glass is enough and just maybe sign the South American on a years loan. We need a top left midfielder like we have great right wings in Dyer and Solano.

What about big John Karelse? I expected him to be given a Free this summer yet he is on the trip to Exeter.

DeB, we need a capable third string goalie. Presumably Karelse is happy with his lot. He probably gets more action (if you know what I mean) for the Resorves than Steve Harper does. If the remuneration is right and he has little prospect of advancing his career elsewhere, plus living in/near Toon, then would you move on?

Absolutely if he is happy being the No.3.

It's just that I thought he was a bit more ambitious than that and basically wanted to see if he could get a move elsewhere playing first team football. I'm sure I read something earlier in the season which said he would want to move on.

Haven't we ben linked with a Keeper from Charlton that used to play for Carlisle when Wadsworth was in charge there?

Karelse did want to move at teh end of last season and possibly at the beginning of this one. I think part of it was issues of his family settling in the area. He later changed his mind and decided he (and family) were happy to stay. Never did hear why. Perhaps he didn't get any better offers elsewhere, or he realized he was living in a great area. :-)

Would Hamilton mke a decent right - back? Too late now I suppose. As for Karsle, he's ample cover, had a bad baptism but looks OK in the reserves (err I've seen him 4x) and keepers arn't like outfield players when comparing reserves with first tamers.

Hamilton was actually a RB when he joined us, Dave - it was TSM who played him in midfield.
I've seen him a couple of times in the Reserves recently, and he's looked utterly useless. Best to cut him now IMO - a pathetic remnant of a dreadful recent past.

De B - Tony Caig was the keeper, I think.
Karelse must be happy, I sold him to DC United in Champ Manager and he was very disappointed to be transfer-listed...so it must be true!
