Very good left winger with a hell of a shot on him. Liverpool are rumoured to be in with a bid for Sergio Goncacioe or whatever his name is and also Lizarazu from Bayern Munich.

Surely they will have to trim their squad somehow? Would they part with Berger? Whatever happened to former Toon target Bernard Diomede at Liverpool another left winger?

Fowler lives on his idolisation from the Scousers but Houllier is wise to that, hence his time on the bench.

Diomede was a total flop at Anfield - not sure whether he's still there.

Berger would look great in B&W - in fact he's precisely the kind of LW we need. However, if he leaves 'pool he will have plenty of options - it's about time we showed some bloody ambition, and tried to sign someone meaningful, like Patrik Berger for instance.
