I accidentally drop the lens onto the ground. The Nikon filter mount hits the ground, denting the mount a little bit and completely breaking the outermost lens. I am so worried that it cannot be repaired considering spending so much money on this lens. Does anyone know whether it can be fixed and how much will the fix cost?

I think the best place to get a proper estimate would be Nikon themself. At least you'll know that it will be done right if it's repairable which I'm sure it is. Good luck.
