Is'nt it awful?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Who else finds themselves desperate to be able to read a posting from Ken on here, or go and have some banter with Stew Canel on the Strawberry, or just sit back and watch as several Mackems are obliterated on RTG?

It's so true. You never appreciate something fully until it is gone.

Tragic. RIP mate.

Andy, tragic it most certainly is, but for the record neither you nor Stew have ever "obliterated several Mackems on RTG". Unlike, say MacBeth or Ash Mag, with Stew you knew you were getting - quantity not quality.

Andy further to msg on RTG, this was not intended as one-upmanship but I apologise if this was how it came across.

The point I was trying to convey (albeit very badly) was RTG Mackems see the contribution of Stew very differently to the BBS mags but are no less saddened.

I have posted this message on here rather than in response to your msg on RTG because some cretin will take the piss.

Nee probs mate. Like you say, one way or the other he will be missed by Mags and Mackems alike.

ML3 - as one who rarely visitis RTG (it's not my idea of a fun thing to do), let me say I do appreciate your contributions on here - especially on this very sad subject.

Those of us who knew Ken personally knew just how much of a wind-up merchant he could be, and indeed he tried it a few times on here as well.

But underneath, I think we saw more of the "real Ken" on here than you folks did. Nevertheless, it is great to see that his contributions over there were also "appreciated" and will be missed. At times like this, it's the humanside which comes to the fore. Sure, I expect there will be some who couldn't care less, but it's nice to know that some of "the enemy" are of like mind.

Our two boards are entirely different. Some of your lot mock our approach, but ot's what we like. If we wanted more of the "cut and thrust" of the RTG style, we'd be over in The Strawberry. As I said before, I welcome your contributions on here (as do a number of others I know), in contrast with others from RTG (you know who I mean). So please, keep popping back from time to time. Next time you and Lancaster Red are in the area together, I'll buy you both a pint - of Newkie Broon!!

How Screach man - what a waste! They'd only spit it out again

The thing that strikes me is that followers of NUFC and Chimp FC have more in common than different, which makes those differences and the rivalry so intense; sepatated by their common passions. I'm pleasantly suprised by the comments of the makems who appear here and those on RTG. But I'm sure Ken would probably add an insult just to spite yer :-)

Sorry Bobby - I can't think of a decent pun for sepatated. But I'm sure Ken would have ;-)

i'll second that screach, ML3 adds to this place, the other one, he's a waste of pixels

You're just pissed off cos he took the piss out of your name ;))

i found that quite funny, especially as all the Kevins i've ever known have fitted a Kevin stereotype very neatly indeed.
