Is the bubble about to burst?

...maybe it has already?

What with Harry Potter (see LR's thread) being maltreated at OT + they lost to Bayern Munich + they lost their last 3 league games PLUS they lost both their league matches to L'pool, AND NOW:

Singapore (= glory hunters HQ, the money's here!) is NOW awash with Liverpool shirts and other such marketer's dreams. L'pool have just won those 3 cups + gained a CL place. It appears the glory hunting Singapore tw*ts have decided the scousers are the team to switch their allegiance to; their Porsches, Ferraris and Mercs are now emblazoned with L'pool regalia.

Liverpool are coming here in 3 weeks time and they're gonna make a financial killing, basically Beckham worshipping is out and YMO has taken over big time - he's on cable TV (advertising the upcoming trip) about 4 times an hour!

Maybe the bookies and match fixers know something we don't?

I know you've just won the PL (again) LR but, you guys are getting worried, you've more or less admitted it yourself!

I think these Singaporeans are a good barometer of world-wide 'trends' in football marketing - NOT genuine support.

LR lived in hope that one day his side would reappear from behind the shadow of Liverpool. It took 25 years but his patience was rewarded. No one can stay at the top for ever and he's bright enough to know that.

I think he'd rather Arsenal (or us !!!) were the team to take over the top dog mantle again, any one but Liverpool.

Hey BUD, a bit nasty towards Singaporeans. I know many who see Newcastle as their team. Can't really call them gloryhunters.

As for Man U , I think the bubble could bust, but instead of having one dominant team , I think there will be three teams competing for honours next season. (Leeds, Liverpool and Man U). The best we can hope for is to be in the next league along with Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal.

Hey rik, I've been living in Singapore (on and off) since 1982, I know how fickle and easily led (cf. sheep) they (Singaporeans) are. I also know I'm more than qualified to make the above statement!

While we're on about Man Utd, I've just heard on Radio 4 that The Monster Raving Loony Party have issued their manifesto for the General Election. Amongst a number of silly suggestions is the eminently sensible idea that it should become a criminal offence to support Man Utd for anyone born south of Crewe.

Quite a good idea although I hardly think that the "for anyone born South of Crewe" part is really necessary. :-)
