Carl Cort

In the opening match of the season against Manure, I thought Carl was a waste of £7m, he looked totally out of place. The injury happens and we have little to prove that he was going to answer our problem up front. Since his return though, he seemingly has come around and has finished the season very well. This brings me to the question as to whether or not we should still be shopping for front line help. With Shearer returning and Ameobi's development along with the bairns knocking on the door, I think we're going to be fine in that department.

We still need another striker. Ideally Shola should be fourth choice and continue his education in the reserves with a sprinkling of first team appearances.

Cort needs a finisher alongside him and I can see his partnership with Shearer flourishing if they get the chance.

Whoever it is they will need a couple of wingers.

There WILL be times next season when Cort and Shearer will both be oou of action. LuaLua and Ameobi upfront together don't really give me much confidence . We need a third GOOD striker such as Fowler, Bridges or Jansen.
