An apology and a thank you to the Strawberry lot

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Just a quick one as I think we are all still trying to ocme to terms with the news about Ken. However, I need to apologise to Dr Bill, Susie, Screacher, Steph, Jonno and Softie. I was very ill from about half time at the game and these unfortunate souls had to deal with me. It should have been a day of great fun and I guess it was ruined. Many thanks to all of them, in particular to Bill who sacrificed most of his Saturday evening to making sure I was OK, for looking after me. You're all stars.

No worries pet, glad you're OK. I 'phoned yesterday but don't know if your mam passed on the msg.

No apology is ever necessary for illness pet and everyone was only too pleased to help. I hope you're keeping better and taking care of yourself. I presume the shock of a 3-0 victory was all too much for you. Maybe "the dry season" is the ideal time to recover.

Look after yourself - you're very precious.

Just pleased to hear you're back to normal. Er, hang on a minute.........

Don't worry Dougal. Don't even think about it. No appology necessary.

Of course you don't have to apologise! Truth to tell it was a welcome if worrying distraction whilst trying to come to terms with the tragic news about Ken. Perhaps we all felt a bit better for the chance to actually help someone instead of feeling so useless. In fact, I was toying wth the idea of hurling myself down the steps at the Gallowgate next time we lose 2-1 to the primates so that we can all take our minds off it but am starting to get cold feet about the mecurichrome in the cuts. Would knocking my funny bone quite sharply against the bar and perhaps spilling a tiny amount of beer do instead?

So long as it's your own beer you're spilling mate :-)

Not necessary on either count Dougal.

I hardly ever get the chance to sharpen the old skills these days, so you might have given me a more difficult clinical challenge to practice on - but I'm glad you didn't! Mind you, my Anthony Edwards impression could do with a little more work, don't you think?

Take care.

Thank you all for being so nice about it all. I really appreciate it. I will buy you all many beers the next time I see you. Bill, I thought you were wonderful and very patient. I'm also very grateful to Ev.

No Doug, Bill might have been wonderful (I bet you say that to all the boys). But you were the patient 8-o)
