NAIROBI, Kenya (May 17, 2001 6:38 a.m. EDT) - A military plane crashed Thursday at Kenya's main air force base in Nairobi, officials said. There was no immediate word on injuries.
Military spokesman Bogeta Ongeri confirmed that an aircraft had crashed at Eastleigh Air Base, but did not have any information on the type of aircraft.
Police and other emergency workers were responding to the scene in the capital of this East African nation, said police spokesman Dola Indidas.
