Seaon Tickets my Arse

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Thanks to the BBS I got my ol' Da someone's ticket for this season. The chap wants it back (after this season?!)so I rang SJP yesterday to ask how to apply. Here, almost word for word, is the conversation:

Who do I speak to about a season ticket please?

Are you on the list?

No, but I understand that there may be some available

You have to go on the list

I understand that, but can you tell me if any will be available?

You must be on the list?

As I said, I understand that, but if I go on the list do you think there will be any chance for next season?

Write to us to be put on the list, that's all I can say. Thank You for calling Newcastle United.

I think MacBeth, If elected could address this issue. Or perhaps Clarky could bring it up with David Stonehouse / Russell Cushing.

The club needs your money, as there will be a grewat deal of empty seats next season. This "Go on the list and we'll get in touch" Attitude is ridiculous. You should have had your details taken down and a season ticket application form sent to you.

Exactly, Rik! I can't believe they're being so ridiculous. 'List' my patootie. I put myself on that list 2years ago and to this day have never heard boo. Even with all the unsold tickets this season, never got an offer to take up an ST. I got one anyway through a friend, but not in my name obviously.

It would make sense to start a list of folks to contact after June 9 renewal deadline. It would make even more sense if they'd just tell people that. I despair.

Nick, I will send an e-mail to Russell Cushing - who is responsible for the Ticket Office - about your experience over the weekend.

Naturally, I'll post whatever response I get - I say "if" as he has ignored my last two e-mails. However, if he doesn't reply this time I will then send it to his boss, David Stonehouse. I'll let you know what happens.
